Archery Coaches Background Screeningyour privacy is utmost
For USA Archery instructors and coaches, successful background screening is now required for certification levels above "Basic." NADA is providing access to this service as part of our facilitation of instructors and coaches on behalf of USA Archery and others.
NADA has created an account with a screening company, TClogiQ, that is secure, reliable, and protects the privacy of the coach seeking to confirm their background.
PROGRAM GUIDELINES The program is designed to: 1) TC logiQ process is designed to protect the confidentiality of information and the privacy of coaches. 2) Review coaches and prospective coaches screening on the criterion established by NADA AND relevant archery organization. 3) Provide those coaches who have been screened with an opportunity to challenge incorrect information found in the screening process before a result is forwarded to the relevant archery organization. 4) Any results that fail to meet background screening criterion and any action in those instances where the screening results produce disqualifiers to coaching certification will be forward to relevant archery organization for additional investigation and to be given a final decision. Any negative results will not be disclosed to the Association. 5) The background screening performed on the coach is based on the coaches’ name, date of birth, address history, and social security number. Cost The total cost for the background screen is $19. This $19 fee will be paid to TC logiQ by the coach at the time that he/she goes online to initiate a background screen. TC logiQ will accept payment through the popular online payment service Authorized.Net.SCREENING PROCESS A coach subject to screening must go online to the NADA website and click on the designed background screening button/link to start the background screening process. This button/link will take the coach to a greeting page that outlines a few instructions for the coach before he/she begin the process. Next, the coach will click on the “Click Here To Begin Background Screening Process” link. Upon clicking on the link, the coach will be directed to the next page where he/she will be asked to create an account. This is the first step out of five steps (hereinafter the steps will be referred to as “Screen”). 1) “Screen 1” – The coach will create a username and password, and input his/her email address. There are three questions that the coach will have to select and answer as well. These questions will be helpful to the coach in the future should the coach can’t remember his/her password or username. After the coach clicks on the save and continue button an email will be generated to the coach and the email will include his/her username and password in case the coach is unable to complete the screening application for some reason. Then, he/she can log back-in and return to the screen where he/she left-off. Also, the coach can use the password and username to check the status of his/her screening by logging into his/her account at www.tclogiq.com. 2) “Screen 2” – On the second screen the coach will be directed to screening application. The coach will be asked to provide the following information: Legal First Name Email Address Preferred First Name Association Name Middle Name Last Name Birth Date Suffix U.S. Citizen (Yes/No) Maiden Name Gender Street Address Height City, State, Zip Code Eye Color Home Phone Number Race Cell Phone Number Counties/States/Countries lived in since age of 18
The coach will also be asked to disclose any previous arrests or convictions. In addition, the coach will receive another automatic email notification from TC logiQ. In this email, the coach’s username and password will be displayed again so that he/she can check the status of the background screening through TC logiQ website. The email will also describe the process and other related information about the background screening. 3) “Screen 3” – On the third screen, the coach will be asked to verify the accuracy of the information that he/she inputted on the previous screen shot. If the information was inputted incorrectly, then, the coach can edit this information by clicking on the “make change button” located at the bottom on the screen. 4) “Screen 4” – On this screen, the coach will enter his/her payment information. TC logiQ uses Authorize.net as a third-party vendor to transfer electronic payments securely. After the v submits his/her credit card information, the coach is asked to verify the information before proceeding to the next page. 5) “Screen 5” – On the fifth screen, the coach will be asked to execute the credit card payment and initiate the background screening search by clicking the button below the page. This page will also display the coach credit card information along with his/her personal information. There are instructions listed on this page describing the timeline for the background screening process. After the coach clicks on the button to execute his/her payment and initiate the background screening he/she will be directed to a thank you page. If a coach is uncomfortable with submitting their credit card information over the internet there is a manual screening process that has been established for this purpose. However, there will be an additional cost involved with this manual screening process. Please see the attached document for more information. REVIEW & APPEALS PROCESS In the event that a background screening returns information that the coach believes is not accurate, he or she will have the opportunity to dispute that information with “TC logiQ.” To protect the coach confidentiality and allow due process, this opportunity will precede any communication of information to National Alliance for the Development of Archery. In addition, there will be a hearing process available before a national review panel should the coach choose to challenge a negative finding on his/her certification eligibility.INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND EXCHANGE This program places the responsibility for information management and retention on the screening provider, TC logiQ. Except in those few instances where a coach’s background screen returns information that makes him or her ineligible for certifications and he/she then chooses to appeal the decision, National Alliance for the Development of Archery or relevant archery organizations will not be privy to or store the information returned in a coaches’ background screen.
